WSP is currently initiating a search for a Bridge Inspection Team Leader - Structural Engineer to be involved in projects with our Structures Bridge Design Team in our New England offices, including Boston and Worcester, MA/ Providence, RI/ Merrimack, NH and Glastonbury, CT. Your Impact

• Work with our Bridge/Highway Design Team on project development and design tasks.
• Perform structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in preparing Bridge Load Ratings.
• Participate in Bridge Inspections as a team member.
• Develop plans/sketches using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and scientists on multiple projects.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
• Support various engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Assist with project research, fieldwork, and preliminary design calculations.
• Contribute to final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Maintain project documentation.
• Stay current with structural engineering techniques and practices.
• Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, following WSP’s policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in bridge inspection, design, or related work.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
• Interest in structures, transportation, or related fields with a desire to grow skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead junior team members.
• Proficiency in technical writing, MS Office, and related tools.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.
• Flexibility to work beyond typical hours and occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited Civil Engineering or related program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD).
• Professional licensure or certification.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Participation in professional organizations.
