Job summary

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Structural Engineer to oversee NBIS-compliant inspections for state DOT and transportation projects across the Northeast.

You will manage field teams, perform fracture-critical and other NBIS inspections, and ensure high-quality deliverables under FHWA guidelines, coordinating with DOTs and internal teams while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• EIT required; PE preferred (CT PE strongly preferred).
• 5+ years NBIS bridge inspection experience.
• FHWA/NHI training (NHI 130055, 130078, tunnel and ancillary).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise bridge inspection teams on State DOT and public infrastructure projects.
• Perform NBIS-compliant bridge inspections.
• Prepare and review inspection reports.
• Coordinate with DOT agencies and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as snooper trucks, bucket trucks, rope access, and confined space procedures.
