Job summary

RK&K is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our Baltimore team. You will serve as NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader for a diverse inventory of bridges and structures for multiple clients in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and DC.

You will lead inspections, develop detailed reports, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with managers across office locations. This role offers growth into leadership and management of inspections and contracts, with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Four years’ bridge/structures inspections experience.
• Familiarity with MDOT SHA, MDTA, MTA, VDOT, DDOT and local agencies reporting systems; asset data tools experience.
• Must meet NBIS 23 CFR 650.309 Team Leader requirements.
• NBIS training courses 130055, 130053 (within last 5 years); 130078 (preferred); 130087, 130110 (preferred).
• Experience with load rating analyses for As-Built/As-Inspected conditions using software.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with vendors and safety equipment/traffic control.

Responsibilities

• Lead NBIS inspection tasks.
• Schedule daily activities of inspection staff and equipment with Bridge Inspection Managers.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports in client formats documenting findings and recommendations.
• Perform quality control reviews of reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with a diverse inspection team across RK&K offices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead task orders and projects as required.
