Bridge Inspection Team Leader

Garver's Transportation Design Center, an integrated team focused on delivering bridge projects, inspections, and load ratings, is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader for our Franklin, TN or Olive Branch, MS office. A remote or hybrid work arrangement is negotiable. This role involves working with engineers, designers, and technicians to provide technical expertise for inspections and reports.

The Bridge Inspection Team Leader will primarily perform SNBI bridge inspections, including field and office work, with travel across Tennessee and occasionally other states. Opportunities to collaborate on load rating and bridge rehabilitation projects are also available.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Performing routine bridge and culvert inspections to SNBI and state standards as Inspection Team Leader
2. Coordinating site visits for inspections
3. Assisting with underwater inspections
4. Documenting inspections following company procedures
5. Uploading inspection files daily to specialized interfaces
6. Entering bridge inspection data
7. Conducting fieldwork, including carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, and in various weather conditions
8. Performing NSTM inspections

As experience with Garver's inspection practices grows, additional project and staff management responsibilities may develop.

Experience Requirements

• Completion of NHI Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges)
• 5-10 years of related experience
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Skills and Experience

• NHI Course No. 130078 (Fracture Critical Techniques for Steel Bridges)
• NHI Course No. 130091 (Underwater Bridge Inspection)
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• PE license in TN
• Experience with InspectX, MicroStation, and AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software
