Bridge Inspection Team Lead

Garver's Transportation Design Center, an integrated team with proficiency and focus in delivering bridge projects, inspections, and load ratings, is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Lead for our North Little Rock, AR office. A remote or hybrid remote work arrangement is negotiable. This position will work with our in-house engineers, designers, and technicians to provide technical expertise in all areas required to successfully deliver sound NBIS inspections and reports.

This Bridge Inspection Team Lead will primarily perform NBIS bridge inspection tasks, including field inspection and associated office work. This will include travel across Tennessee and Arkansas, with occasional work in other states. There may also be opportunities to collaborate on load rating and bridge rehabilitation projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Performing routine inspection of bridges and culverts to NBIS and state standards as Inspection Team Lead
2. Coordinating site visits for inspections
3. Assisting with underwater and fracture critical bridge inspections
4. Following company procedures for documenting inspections
5. Uploading inspection files daily to specialized interfaces
6. Data entry related to bridge inspections
7. Fieldwork, including working at heights and in various weather conditions
8. Developing Bridge Inspection Safety Plans

As experience with Garver's inspection practices grows, additional responsibilities may include project and staff management opportunities.

Experience Requirements

1. Completion of NHI Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges)
2. Minimum 5-10 years of related experience
3. Strong communication skills
4. Proficiency with MS Office

Preferred Skills and Experience

1. NHI Course No. 130078 (Fracture Critical Techniques for Steel Bridges)
2. NHI Course No. 130091 (Underwater Bridge Inspection)
3. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
4. Experience with InspectX or similar Asset Management software
5. Experience with MicroStation
6. Experience with AASHTOWare Bridge Rating software
