Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with bridge inspection and load rating experience to join a well-established transportation engineering team in New England. The role focuses on field inspections, structural analyses, and client-facing project work across state and municipal projects.

Ideal candidates will possess a PE license, strong report-writing skills, and experience with MassDOT procedures.

Qualifications

PE license required
Experience performing bridge inspections and preparing inspection reports
Strong bridge load rating and structural analysis experience
Familiarity with MassDOT bridge standards and inspection procedures preferred
Experience using bridge analysis and load rating software
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

Perform and lead bridge inspections in accordance with NBIS and client standards
Prepare bridge inspection reports and recommendations
Complete structural analyses and bridge load ratings for a variety of bridge types
Review bridge conditions and develop rehabilitation or repair recommendations
Coordinate with project managers, transportation agencies, and public-sector clients
Support bridge asset management and capital planning efforts
Assist with mentoring junior engineers and technical staff
