Job summary

Benesch seeks a Bridge Inspection Team Leader based in our Boston, MA office with a hybrid work schedule. The role directs the work of team members and coordinates with clients, offering opportunities to work on bridge load ratings and designs.

The successful candidate will have NBIS eligibility as a bridge/tunnel lead, strong leadership, and proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD. PE preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• NBIS qualification as a bridge or tunnel inspection team leader.
• Ability to lead others and maintain proper working relationships.
• Knowledge of bridge inspection methods and procedures.
• Experience with reporting procedures.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate bridge access.
• Physical capability to navigate steep embankments, operate in confined spaces, and climb structures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges and tunnels and write reports of their conditions.
• Lead in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing methods and access equipment.
• Perform post-incident inspections to assess damage and advise on closures/detours.
• Coordinate inspection schedules with owners and agencies on traffic control and access.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and input on staffing and performance.
