Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking an Engineer-in-Training: Bridge Inspection to join our Bridges and Structures Practice across multiple markets, including Seattle, Olympia, Portland, Salem, and Boise.

You will perform inspections, support load-rating calculations, and contribute to rehabilitation efforts while developing your civil/structural engineering career under experienced mentors. The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or completion in Spring 2027) and an active EIT license,

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/structural engineering, or completing in Spring 2027.
• Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
• Proficiency in Mathcad and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform condition inspections of bridges and tunnels.
• Generate and edit inspection reports.
• Organize information for project documents.
• Assist with bridge load rating calculations and rehabilitation projects.
• Conduct structural analyses using AASHTO and other codes.
• Develop engineering drawing details and concept reports.
• Produce quantity and cost estimates; review contractor submittals.
