Job summary

Burgess & Niple is seeking a Bridge Inspection Engineer to advance the safety of critical infrastructure through fieldwork and engineering analysis. You will work with Professional Engineers, Engineers-In-Training, and Technicians to inspect bridges of all sizes across the country, combining fieldwork with design calculations to preserve bridges nationwide.

Qualifications

BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
0–4 years bridge inspection engineering experience.
Valid driver’s license with clean record.
Ability to travel nationwide up to 40%.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Proactive, adaptable problem-solver with entrepreneurial mindset.
Physical ability to lift 60 lbs. and work at heights.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with bridge software preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with Professional Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and Technicians on NBIS/SNBI bridge inspections.
Coordinate schedules, resources, field activities, and inspection report summaries.
Perform structural calculations and load ratings for existing bridges.
Maintain knowledge of state and federal inspection protocols and ensure compliance.
