Job summary

Kokosing Construction seeks a Lead Construction Design Engineer to develop temporary civil and structural designs for bridge and infrastructure projects. This role can be based in Richmond, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD.

The position includes leadership of design engineers and CAD modelers, with responsibility for safety, constructability, and schedule compliance. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, economical engineering solutions, manage submittals, and

Qualifications

• BS in civil/structural engineering with PE license.
• At least 10 years of design experience on temporary construction works.
• Experience with bridges/highway projects and shoring/erection/demolition.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and review temporary construction designs for safety and code compliance.
• Lead design engineers and CAD modelers; mentor team and coordinate with management.
• Collaborate with clients, owners, vendors, and field staff on engineering solutions.
• Optimize means/methods with operations; manage submittals and project schedules.
• Develop pre-bid means, methods, and cost estimates with estimating staff.
