Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation’s Laredo District seeks a Hydraulic/Bridge Engineer at the II/III/IV level to support bridge and drainage design, analysis, and project management. You will work on projects that impact cross-border mobility, lead design reviews, and collaborate with internal teams and consultants.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5–7 years of related experience, and PE licensure with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science (accepted by TX PELS).
  • 5 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience
  • Licenses: Valid US driver’s license; Licensed Professional Engineer; Bridge Inspection training or NICET Level III/IV within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex transportation engineering work in planning, project development and design, construction, operations and/or maintenance.
  • Assists with design, plan preparation, and reviews bridge designs and related structures.
  • Monitors consultants, manages project progress, reviews invoices, and prepares supplemental agreements.
  • Provides technical assistance in drainage design and hydraulics evaluations.
  • Acts as project manager for transportation projects and consultants.
