Job summary

QES Engineering Inspection seeks an experienced Highway Inspector to oversee and inspect heavy highway bridges and structures. The role offers growth potential toward a Structures Manager position and long-term opportunities.

The ideal candidate reads and interprets plans, can work in adverse conditions, and is comfortable climbing structures as needed, with a focus on accuracy and compliant field documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; related degree preferred.
• 5+ years of similar structural inspection experience.
• NICET II or III certification is required.
• PennDOT/PA Turnpike project experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect heavy highway bridges and structures.
• Prepare daily inspections and complete forms.
• Take measurements and perform daily calculations.
• Ensure work adheres to plans, specs and provisions.
• Verify materials and methods meet project requirements.
