Job summary

The Maine Department of Transportation seeks a technical services worker to provide engineering support for bridge maintenance and preservation projects in Augusta. Responsibilities include preparing plans and estimates for rehabilitation, and reviewing permits for safe passage over and under bridges under general supervision.

The role may also perform safety inspections and related drafting of diagrams and reports; requires evidence of education or experience in engineering or a technical field.

Qualifications

• Education, training, and/or experience in engineering or a technical field.
• Ability to review technical plans, draft diagrams and reports.
• Experience collecting data and analyzing datasets for trends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans and estimates for bridge rehabilitation and preservation projects.
• Review and approve over-limit permits to assure safe passage over/under bridges.
• Perform safety inspections of bridges and minor spans.
