Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks a Bridge Engineering Project Manager to join our team in the Melville or Manhattan office.

The role focuses on the design of bridges for NYSDOT, PANYNJ, NYCDOT, and other NY agencies, with a strong emphasis on technical leadership and collaboration. The candidate should have a valid NYS PE, extensive bridge project experience, and the ability to mentor junior staff while coordinating with clients and sub-consultants.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. New York State PE is required.
• New Jersey PE is a plus.
• 12+ years of experience in the bridge industry.
• Experience leading a design team on bridge projects, collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Managing medium to large design projects.
• Maintaining schedules and budgets to meet contractual obligations.
• Coordinating with sub-consultants and clients.
• Directing and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
• Willingness to check calculations and direct design procedures per AASHTO or other requirements.

GPI seeks a Bridge Engineering Project Manager familiar with the design of bridges for NYSDOT, PANYNJ, NYCDOT, or other NY agencies to join our team in our Melville or Manhattan office. We seek someone with a good work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work collectively with our team, and the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.

• Direct and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Willingness to check calculations and/or direct the design procedures of others to ensure that calculations are performed per AASHTO design standards or other requirements

Qualifications

• Master's degree a plus12+ years of experience working in the bridge industry
• Experience working in a team environment, providing technical direction to a design team on minor and major bridge projects

Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
• Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
