Job summary

WSP USA invites interns to join the Summer Internship Program in Florida, working with senior bridge engineers on transportation projects across Florida and the Southeast. You will gain hands-on experience in planning, design, and construction support for bridges and related structures.

The internship is part of a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027, with potential continued part-time work during the academic year, and opportunities to work at Miami, Tampa, or Orlando offices.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree with focus on Structural/Bridge Engineering, graduating Dec 2027 or later.
• Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated interest in Structural/Bridge Engineering and desire to learn with mentorship.
• Able to communicate effectively to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of following directions from mentors and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and standard tools.
• Committed to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks on transportation projects to develop technical and professional skills.
• Learn principles of structural/bridge engineering and assist with field investigations and design calculations.
• Assist with studies, data collection, and preparation of design plans and cost estimates.
• Gain exposure to OpenBridge Designer, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Bluebeam.
• Help maintain project documentation and training on assigned tasks.
