Job summary

WSP USA is offering a full-time Bridge Engineering Internship in Florida with offices in Miami, Tampa, or Orlando. You will work with experienced bridge engineers on transportation projects across Florida, gaining practical experience in planning, design, and construction support for bridges and related structures.

This temporary 12-week summer internship starts May 17, 2027, with potential part-time continuation during the academic year.

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Interest in Structural/Bridge Engineering and desire to learn and contribute to Florida projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Able to take direction from mentors and managers on project work.
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and design tools.
Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

Support engineering tasks on transportation projects to develop technical and professional skills.
Learn principles of Structural and Bridge Engineering.
Assist with studies, field investigations, and basic design calculations and analysis.
Learn software such as OpenBridge Designer/OpenRoads/MicroStation/Bluebeam.
Assist in preparing design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
Help maintain project documentation and records.
Complete assigned training tasks.
Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and safety policies.
