Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc. seeks a Bridge Engineer to join our Melville or Manhattan offices. You will perform structural analysis and design for new and rehabilitated bridges, coordinating with project managers and agencies to meet NYSDOT standards and QA/QC requirements.

The role requires a BS in civil/structural engineering, a valid EIT, 5–10 years of bridge experience, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while working on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• EIT is required, NY PE is preferred.
• 5–10 years of bridge industry experience.
• Experience leading a design team on minor and major bridge projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of new and rehabilitated bridges.
• Prepare and ensure documents meet NYSDOT drafting standards, contract requirements, and QA/QC procedures.
• Participate in or lead bridge inspections.
• Work independently on assigned tasks while coordinating with Project Managers, Designers, and various agencies.
• Provide engineering support during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and completeness.
