Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Bridge Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to join our expanding portfolio of major bridge projects. You will lead or supervise contract documents, analyze structures, and deliver comprehensive design packages while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers growth with high-impact projects across multiple locations and a strong benefits package. PE licensure may be required and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• PE licensure may be required.
• Proficiency in CAD and PC software used in structural engineering.
• Experience developing 3D finite element models.
• Experience in DOT bridge and wall design.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop and/or supervise contract documents for transportation projects.
• Analyze structural issues and provide detail design.
• Deliver detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, and reports.
• Support other discipline activities as necessary.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team for our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects! This role is ideal for candidates looking to take the next step in their established career in Bridge Design work. We have openings available in Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH; Akron, OH; Memphis, TN, Nashville, TN and possibly other areas.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of contract documents for transportation projects meeting client quality requirements –including defining the problem, establishing scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status
• Analyzing structural issues and providing detail design that satisfies client’s need
• Delivering products consisting of detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses
• Supporting other discipline activities as necessary
• Mentoring young staff members and providing performance input
• Developing skill sets to lead project development in the future
• Providing technical guidance to young engineers and CAD Designer/Drafters on project

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• 5+ years of related work experience
• PE may be required
• Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with structural engineering
• Experience in developing 3D finite elements models
• DOT bridge and wall design experience

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to lead and motivate team members in completion of project tasks
• Provide training and lead technical discussions related to structural engineering
• DOT pre-certified in bridge and culvert design

Salary Range: $74,800.00 - $130,900.00
