Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Bridge Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI, to join the Michigan Transportation team. You will work on bridge design, analysis, plan preparation, inspections, scoping, and load rating for MDOT and local projects.

We value collaboration across disciplines, fieldwork experiences, and a commitment to quality transportation engineering. Candidates with EIT and relevant software knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• 0–4+ years bridge engineering experience preferred.
• EIT certification preferred; PE license a plus.
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD and MDOT bridge standards a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on bridge design, analysis, and plan preparation.
• Support fieldwork including safety inspections and load rating.
• Assist in budgeting, scheduling, and technical reporting.
• Apply civil engineering principles to transportation projects.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams and MDOT/local agencies.
