Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects seeks a full-time bridge engineer to support the bridge team in South Jordan, UT. You will design and detail railroad and highway structures, mentor entry-level staff, and communicate with clients and multi-office teams.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Civil Engineering (ABET) with 7+ years of transport-structure design experience and would be licensed PE or eligible to obtain in 6 months.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• 7+ years in structural design for bridges and transportation structures.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with plan development, analysis and design calculations.
• Proficiency with AASHTO and AREMA guidance and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of projects and mentor junior staff.
• Design and detailing railroad and highway structures (RCC, PRC, steel, earth retention).
• Coordinate with offices, report to senior staff and clients; manage CAD outputs.

Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time bridge (structures) engineer to support our bridge team in our South Jordan Office. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys being part of a team performing office and fieldwork.Role and responsibilities:Regular job duties include design and detailing railroad and highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, and drainage structures. The candidate must perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete a variety of assignments such as developing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.In addition to the tasks listed, the candidate will be expected to lead the structural design of projects and mentor entry-level staff in the design and production of construction drawings. Communication is key for this position. The candidate will need to communicate effectively to direct entry-level staff and provide reports and updates to senior-level staff and clients collaborating with other offices and Structure Bridge groups. The candidate will need to work in a team environment with engineers from a multitude of disciplines and locations.
