Job description

Position Overview

Wilson & Company is seeking a full‑time senior bridge (structures) engineer to support our bridge team in our Denver office. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail railroad and highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre‑stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, and drainage structures.
• Perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete a variety of assignments such as developing and reviewing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
• Lead the structural design of projects and mentor entry‑level staff in the design and production of construction drawings.
• Communicate effectively to direct entry‑level staff, provide reports and updates to senior‑level staff and clients, and collaborate with other offices and Structure Bridge groups.
• Work in a team environment with engineers from multiple disciplines and locations; meet with clients and pursue work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus) from an ABET accredited school.
• 10+ years of experience in structural engineering design including bridge, retaining wall and other transportation structures.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience in plan development, analysis and design calculations, and quality control of highway structures and/or railroad structures.
• Familiarity with AASHTO and/or AREMA.
• Experience with software such as Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, Risa, Lpile, Mathcad and other related engineering software to design structural elements of bridges.

Job Location: Denver, Colorado
Annual Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000+ (Depending on Experience)
