Jobot is seeking a Bridge Engineer in Indianapolis, IN for a permanent, on-site role. Lead the design and delivery of complex bridge projects and coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings 16+ years of bridge/transportation experience, a PE license, and proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while navigating regulatory requirements and project budgets.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 16+ years of bridge/transportation engineering experience.
• Active PE license with ability to obtain additional registrations as needed.
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex bridge/transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Develop design options considering technical requirements, constructability, permitting and community needs.
• Prepare and review calculations, plans, specs, reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.

Job Details

• Lead the design and delivery of complex bridge and transportation engineering projects from concept through completion.
• Develop design alternatives that consider technical requirements, constructability, permitting, community needs, and regulatory constraints.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
• Oversee multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate technical, financial, and project management requirements.
• Work directly with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other project stakeholders to resolve complex issues and advance projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other team members.
• Collaborate with bridge design professionals across multiple offices and states to share expertise and develop innovative solutions.
• Help establish technical standards, guidelines, and best practices within the bridge practice.
• Take an active role in project planning, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and overall project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 16+ years of relevant bridge or transportation engineering experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain additional state registrations as needed.
• Strong experience with bridge design and complex transportation engineering projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large or multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory considerations.
• Proven ability to develop practical design solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with clients and public agencies.
• Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.
