Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Supervisor Electrician to lead a team of electricians and oversee maintenance of electrical systems across city bridges and traffic control. The role requires working at heights, weekends, and long hours, with rotation among Bridge Repair HRB and BQR sites in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

The position also involves 24/7 emergency support for 23 movable bridges citywide, PLC fault diagnosis, and restoring service to vehicles, pedestrians, and maritime

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time electrician experience, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, within the last fifteen years.
• Alternatively, four years of described experience plus related trade training with supervisory experience in the last fifteen years.
• New York State Motor Vehicle Driver license required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electricians and maintenance in bridges, buildings, and traffic control systems.
• Coordinate 24/7 deployment for emergency operations citywide.
• Inspect, repair, and test generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, breakers, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC-related faults and read electrical codes to maintain service.
