Job summary

Collins is seeking a Project Engineer for our Chesterton, Indiana team. The role focuses on bridge and structural design, with responsibilities in project management, client liaison, and supervising junior staff.

INDOT project experience and a PE license in Indiana are required. The candidate will manage schedules and budgets, prepare plans and reports, and coordinate with clients and government agencies to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• 5-8+ years of experience in civil engineering projects with bridges, roadways, or related structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required in Indiana.
• Experience in INDOT bridge design projects and INDOT lifecycle practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering computations and develop complete plans/reports.
• Direct and supervise entry-level engineers, technicians, and drafter staff.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
• Prepare and review proposal scoping, estimates, and project plans.
• Attend meetings beyond regular hours as needed.
• Ensure safety practices are followed on site and in office.
