Job summary

STV Incorporated in Austin, Texas, seeks a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This hybrid role requires at least 3 days in the office and offers exposure to bridges and structural projects while supporting design calculations, drawings, reports, and inspections.

Applicants should be pursuing civil engineering at an ABET-accredited school; NBIS familiarity and software skills (SAP2000, MIDAS, CSI Bridge, AutoCAD, Revit) are a plus. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
• Preferred: experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.
• Familiarity with NBIS bridge inspection procedures and structural analysis software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of bridges and other structures, applying engineering principles and techniques.
• Support the preparation of design calculations, construction drawings, and technical reports.
• Participate in the inspection and rating of existing structures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and present design information, including organizing and interpreting data.
• Engage in both office-based tasks and on-site activities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering processes.
• Assist in preparing project documentation, including reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Learn and apply relevant industry standards and best practices in structural design and inspection.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.
