Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• 1–2 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required at time of hire; Wyoming PE required within one year.
• Knowledge of AASHTO bridge design standards and highway engineering practices.
• Ability to design and check complex bridges and related structures per standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and design check of complex steel and concrete bridges, overhead sign structures, box culverts, retaining walls and other highway structures.
• Produce organized engineering design calculations and project documentation.
• Review designs for clarity, organization, and completeness.
• Review fabricator designs and related construction drawings.
• Affix PE seal to design-related work and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist with project administration and construction support.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with programs, agencies, and the public.
