Job summary

Creighton Manning, a GAI company, seeks an experienced Structural Engineer 2 for bridge and transportation projects in Albany, Poughkeepsie, or Syracuse, NY. The role focuses on design, analysis, and coordination with clients on complex bridge/culvert projects.

The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple assignments within NYSDOT standards. ABET/EAC degree and NY PE licensure (or reciprocal) are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET/EAC accredited program or approved equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure in NY or ability to obtain reciprocal licensure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/check calculations and design procedures per AASHTO and NYSDOT standards.
• Prepare design reports, specs, plans, studies, permits, and designs for bridge projects.
• Develop plan details for bridge replacement/rehabilitation per NYSDOT standards.
• Coordinate with client and team within scope and budget to develop efficient solutions.
• Perform structural analysis and stability reviews for proposed construction loads.
• Develop demolition/erection sequence plans with construction-stage stability analysis.
• Design/Detail hydraulic jacking and structural lifting systems.
• Develop crane pick plans including site logistics and rigging details.
• Serve as Project Engineer with client contact responsibilities across multiple projects.
