Job summary

Reynolds Smith & Hills Inc. is looking for a Bridge Engineer in Charlotte, NC. This role requires the professional to perform engineering design for bridge and culvert projects, along with preparing detailed project specifications and conducting structural calculations.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, at least 5 years of experience, and a PE License in North Carolina or the ability to obtain one. Proficiency in AASHTO LRFD specifications and Microstation is also essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
• PE License in the State of North Carolina is required, or ability to obtain.
• Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Design Standards, NCDOT Bridge Design Manual.

Responsibilities

• Development of bridge design deliverables including structure plans and specifications.
• Completes structural calculations and prepares project documents.
• Performs quality control reviews and ensures project milestones are achieved.

Skills

Proficient in AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design specifications

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders

Proficiency with Microstation

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
