Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Civil Engineer to support bridge design and NBIS inspections. You will interpret general engineering principles, perform design computations, and coordinate with multi-discipline teams in a dynamic, employee-owned firm.

The role includes field investigations 50% of the time and office work 50%. Immigration sponsorship is not available except for TN visa eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 0–5 years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepares/performs and checks structural analysis, design plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge projects.
• Perform design computations.
• Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
• Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
• Assistant for structural inspections/field investigations and develop related reports.
• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
