Job summary

Consor is seeking a civil/structural engineer with 4+ years of bridge design experience to lead and support design tasks across projects. You will perform analyses, prepare calculations, and coordinate with TxDOT and clients.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience in civil/structural engineering with a focus on bridge design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Demonstrated experience with bridge design principles, methodologies and current AASHTO LRFD standards.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete and steel design.
  • Proficiency with ORD or MicroStation-based platforms and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support structural and bridge design tasks as part of an integrated engineering team.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior staff, including EITs.
  • Perform structural/bridge analysis, engineering calculations, load-rating evaluations and design checks.
  • Develop and review structural/bridge plans, specifications, estimates and supporting documents.
  • Conduct conceptual engineering studies and provide recommendations.
  • Support and lead preliminary engineering and final design efforts.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and design summaries.
  • Coordinate with internal project managers, coworkers, local governments and TxDOT.
  • Participate in client meetings, project presentations and proposal efforts as needed.

Job description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

In this role, you will design and review a variety of transportation and civil structures, including highway and pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, overhead sign structures, and drainage-related infrastructure. You will perform structural analyses, prepare design calculations and construction documents and ensure compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.


This position offers exposure to a diverse range of clients and projects, providing opportunities to work through all phases of project delivery, from planning and preliminary design to final design and construction support. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, you will strengthen your technical expertise while further developing your project management, coordination and client service skills.


What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Need:

    • Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) or other MicroStation‑based platforms

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)



  • Beneficial (not required) software experience:

    • RISA

    • LEAP Bridge Suite

    • AutoCAD Civil 3D



  • This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

  • While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle and lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 35 lbs.
