Job summary

St. Louis County is seeking a Bridge Worker to perform routine, semi-skilled operation of heavy construction equipment and general labor in the construction and maintenance of County bridges.

The role is part of Minnesota Teamsters Local #320 union, with a salary range disclosed for 2026. The incumbent will operate equipment, work outdoors, and may advance to Bridge Worker Senior after one year of service and required approvals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• One (1) year full-time paid verifiable experience as a general laborer in heavy building or road/bridge construction.
• Possession of a Class 'B' Commercial Driver's License without an airbrake restriction with the ability to obtain a Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License with a tank vehicle endorsement and without any of the following restrictions within six (6) months of employment: air brake, full air brake, manual transmission or tractor trailer.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy construction equipment for bridge construction/maintenance.
• Perform routine, semi-skilled labor and assist in excavation, fabrication and assembly of culverts and spans.
• Follow supervision and safety protocols while performing duties on county roads.
