Job summary

Thimble Alterations LLC is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process. This is an independent contractor role with bookings provided through our platform.

You will conduct multiple fittings, customize gowns, create bustles, and manage ceremony attire while guiding brides on timelines and expectations. Build a portfolio and work with high-value gowns in a friendly, professional setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed).
• Confidence working with high-value gowns and the patience to fit them properly.
• Strong customer-facing presence – brides remember calm, professional seamstresses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to dress design and bride’s preference.
• Handle bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire alongside the main gown.
• Explain timelines and what to expect on the day of fittings.
• Build a public profile showcasing work to earn referrals.
• Set your schedule and rates within platform guidelines.
