Thimble Alterations in Connecticut is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process in an independent contractor role. Bookings are provided through our platform.

You will conduct first, second, and final fittings, customize gowns (hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications), create bustles tailored to the dress design, and handle related ceremony attire.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed).
• Comfort working with high-value gowns and guiding brides through fittings.
• Strong customer-facing presence and calming demeanor.
• Reliable workspace with space for fittings and steaming.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to dress design and bride preferences.
• Handle bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride ceremony attire alongside the main gown.
• Guide brides through timelines and what to expect on the day.
