Job summary

Boston Beer Corporation is seeking a Brewery Representative to cover Southern Delaware. The role is field-based, requires living in Sussex County (Rehoboth/Lewes/Bethany/Dewey Beach). You will drive growth by expanding BBC product availability and visibility in bars, restaurants, and retailers across the territory.

You will train staff, run tastings and promotions, and collaborate with distributors. A valid driver’s license and 1+ year of outside sales in F&B are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented outside sales in food & beverage.
• Valid driver's license and insured vehicle for travel to and from accounts.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sell our entire Boston Beer Company portfolio.
• Focus on selling products and upgrading lines in retail accounts.
• Identify major accounts and develop plans to establish business.
• Improve conditions and merchandise through displays and POS.
• Partner with distributors to ensure orders and growth.
• Conduct tastings, education, and promotions for staff.
• Work days vary due to the customer-facing role; weekends/holidays may be required.
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings; regular market travel to service retailers.
• Maintain visibility and availability of BBC products across accounts.

Job description

We are currently hiring a full-time, Brewery Representative in Southern, DE. The ideal candidate must live in the Sussex County area, preferably Rehoboth, Lewes, Bethany or Dewey Beach, DE*.

The Brewery Representative works autonomously to focus on developing new accounts and maintaining current accounts within the industry. A high emphasis is placed on increasing the availability and visibility of products in new and existing accounts by using consultative sales tactics.

*Please note that while this position is listed as "working remotely", our sales positions are field based and require you to live within the territory listed to visit accounts, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

What You'll Brew:

• Sell our entire Boston Beer Company (BBC) product portfolio
• 100% focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of product lines in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores/convenient stores)
• Identifying major accounts that are not currently selling BBC products, and developing a plan to establish business with such accounts
• Improving conditions and merchandise accounts by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items to increase visibility of the brand
• Partnering with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and business is growing at accounts
• Conducting waitstaff / bartender educations, beer tastings and evening promotions
• Working conditions vary greatly day to day due to customer facing nature of role
• May be the periodic requirement to work weekends and holidays to support the needs of the business
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings
• Regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry
• An intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality
• Valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts continuously
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently
• Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale frequently

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $48,000 and $63,000. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
