Job summary

The Boston Beer Company is seeking a full-time Brewery Representative in the Washington, DC area. The role emphasizes developing new accounts and maintaining current accounts with a consultative sales approach, visiting customers and increasing product visibility in bars, restaurants, and retailers.

Based in the DC metro area (Georgetown, Navy Yard, Capitol Hill, Logan Circle preferred), you will travel to accounts, conduct tastings and promotions, and work with distributors to grow business.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented outside sales experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive to accounts.
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer.
• Willingness to travel within the territory.

Responsibilities

• Sell the BBC product portfolio to accounts.
• Focus on selling products and upgrading lines in retail accounts.
• Identify major accounts and develop plans to establish business.
• Improve conditions with displays and POS items for visibility.
• Partner with distributors to ensure orders and growth.
• Conduct tastings and evening promotions for staff.
• Travel within market and occasionally on weekends/holidays.

We are currently hiring a full-time,Brewery RepresentativeinWashington, DC. The ideal candidatemustlive in the Washington DC metro area, preferably Georgetown, Navy Yard, Capitol Hill or Logan Circle neighborhoods*.

The Brewery Representative works autonomously to focus on developing new accounts and maintaining current accounts within the industry. A high emphasis is placed on increasing the availability and visibility of products in new and existing accounts by using consultative sales tactics.

*Please note thatwhile this position is listed as “working remotely”, our sales positions are field based and require you to live within the territory listed to visit accounts, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

What You'll Brew

• Sell our entire Boston Beer Company (BBC) product portfolio
• 100% focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of product lines in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores/convenient stores)
• Identifying major accounts that are not currently selling BBC products, and developing a plan to establish business with such accounts
• Improving conditions and merchandise accounts by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items to increase visibility of the brand
• Partnering with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and business is growing at accounts
• Conducting waitstaff / bartender educations, beer tastings and evening promotions
• Working conditions vary greatly day to day due to customer facing nature of role
• May be the periodic requirement to work weekends and holidays to support the needs of the business
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings
• Regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers

What Ingredients You’ll Bring

Minimum Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry
• An intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality
• Valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts continuously
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently
• Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale frequently

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $48,000 and $72,000. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location*.

Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.

* A location adjustment attached to Washington, DC area of 9,000 has been factored into the above salary range.
