Job summary

The Boston Beer Company is hiring a Brewery Representative for the East Bay, CA region. This full-time role focuses on developing new accounts and strengthening existing ones with consultative sales tactics.

The candidate should reside in or near Brentwood, Concord, Walnut Creek, San Ramon or Pleasanton, CA and be prepared for travel to visits and training. Responsibilities include selling the full portfolio, expanding product lines in retail accounts, and collaborating with distributors.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented outside sales or food & beverage industry experience.
• Valid driver’s license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to visit accounts regularly.
• Ability to lift/move cases of beer and physical adjustments for displays.

Responsibilities

• Sell the BBC product portfolio to retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor stores).
• Increase product visibility by upgrading lines and building displays at stores.
• Coordinate with distributors to ensure orders and product flow.
• Conduct beer tastings, staff education, and promotions at events.
• Travel locally within East Bay and occasionally travel to other markets.

Job Description We are currently hiring a full-time, Brewery Representative in East Bay, CA. The territory will oversee an account base in East Bay and Redding, CA. The ideal candidate will live in Brentwood, Concord, Walnut Creek, San Ramon or Pleasanton, CA. The Brewery Representative works autonomously to focus on developing new accounts and maintaining current accounts within the industry. A high emphasis is placed on increasing the availability and visibility of products in new and existing accounts by using consultative sales tactics.

What You\'ll Brew:

• Sell our entire Boston Beer Company (BBC) product portfolio
• 100% focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of product lines in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores/convenient stores)
• Identifying major accounts that are not currently selling BBC products, and developing a plan to establish business with such accounts
• Improving conditions and merchandise accounts by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items to increase visibility of the brand
• Partnering with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and business is growing at accounts
• Conducting waitstaff / bartender educations, beer tastings and evening promotions
• Working conditions vary greatly day to day due to the customer facing nature of the role
• May be the periodic requirement to work weekends and holidays to support the needs of the business
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings
• Regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers

What Ingredients You’ll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry
• An intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality
• Valid driver\'s license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts continuously
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently
• Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale frequently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $70,500 and $79,000. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.

A location adjustment of $16,000, attached to the East Bay area, has been factored into the above salary range.
