Job summary

Case Farms, Inc. is seeking a poultry production liaison to work closely with growers and the company.

You will apply current science to maximize farm production, advise on facility and equipment specs, litter management and sanitation, and regularly visit farms with frequent travel. You will document bird health, egg production, body weight, and feed schedules, pull samples as needed, and coordinate with Hatchery, Feedmill, vaccination teams, and Livehaul to meet contract goals and regulatory

Qualifications

• College (minimum 2 years) with poultry-related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science or commensurate field appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Must work with and solve grower problems; establish good working relationship between producers and the Company.
• Provide current science as directed to maximize farm production.
• Advise producers on building and equipment specifications.
• Advise on litter manipulation and farm sanitation.
• Routinely visit farms; frequent travel expected.
• Document bird comfort, flock management and equipment settings.
• Direct light and feed schedules; monitor health and production.
• Pull blood and fat samples promptly.
• Coordinate bird placements and catch schedules; ensure communication between Hatchery, Feedmill, vaccination crews, and Livehaul.
• Ensure production contracts are followed to produce high quality flocks at low cost.
• Adhere to USDA and other government regulations when handling poultry.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Advise producers regarding building and equipment specifications.
• Advise producers on litter manipulation and farm sanitation.
• Routinely visit farms (frequent travel).
• Properly document bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings.
• Direct light and feed schedules.
• Monitor: bird health, egg production, body weight, conformation, monitor feed consumption.
• Pulling blood and fat samples promptly.
• Effectively coordinating bird placements to the farms and helping with catch schedules, while ensuring effective communication between Hatchery, Feedmill, vaccination crews, and Livehaul as it pertains to contract.
• Ensure the producer and company comply with the production contract to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost ensuring good performance.
• Ensure USDA and other government regulations are effectively followed when handling poultry.
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• College (minimum 2 years), prefer bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science or a similar field, or commensurate field experience.
• Ability to work proactively, unsupervised, and be self-motivated.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
• Basic math functions and skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
