Description

The Management Trainee position will be an entry-level salaried role that will prepare the holder for a supervisory position in Operations or the Live Production area of the complex.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Familiarizing oneself with the different aspects of the operation over the course of six months in preparation for a job assignment.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and report on the assigned operational areas during the training process.
  • Assuming responsibilities over assigned work areas under the leadership and guidance of a mentor.
  • Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives.
  • This is a Leader of People position with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus, and Conflict Management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Detail-oriented, structured, and able to communicate effectively; must possess demonstrated ability to work within timelines and in pressured situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills; excellent follow-through on assigned tasks required for this position; must be able to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • User-level experience with common problem-solving tools.
  • Leadership ability and communication skills are sufficiently strong to communicate and interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient English language knowledge and skills (oral and written).
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle and resolve most issues independently.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

  • Poultry experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of an associate degree completed in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

When in a plant environment:

  • Position may require occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, climbing, stacking, pushing, and walking for long periods of time.
  • Extraneous situations may arise that require additional physical demands.
  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • It is necessary that candidates have the capacity to remain calm, considerate, and tactful under unanticipated situations.
  • Occasionally work nights, weekends, holidays, and/ or long shifts.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • Subject to odors and areas with moderate to extreme levels of noise ranging from 50 dB to 110 dB.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers, and all chemicals used in poultry and food processing facilities.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors at 10 ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
