Job summary

Birmingham Obstetrics Gynecology, P.C. is seeking an experienced Breast Sonographer or Ultrasound Technologist to join our women's health imaging team in Birmingham, Alabama. The role centers on diagnostic breast ultrasound with strong emphasis on gynecologic/obstetric ultrasound skills.

We offer a weekday schedule with no evenings, weekends, or on-call requirements, in a supportive outpatient setting equipped with GE Voluson systems and Greenway PrimeSuite EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or medical imaging program.
• Current professional sonography or radiologic technology certification.
• Experience performing diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations.
• Familiarity with gynecologic and obstetric ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic breast ultrasound examinations according to protocols and orders.
• Obtain high-quality images of breast tissue and lesions.
• Document findings and measurements accurately in the EMR.
• Review prior imaging and clinical info before examinations.
• Communicate findings promptly to the interpreting physician.
• Support coordinated patient care with the clinical team.
• Perform pelvic, transvaginal, abdominal, and obstetric ultrasound as needed.
• Explain procedures to patients and maintain a calm environment.
