Unified Women’s Healthcare, LP is seeking a Breast Ultrasound Technologist for Mammography offices in Fulton, MD and Silver Spring, MD. One day per week in Fulton with coverage as needed in Silver Spring.

You will perform breast ultrasound exams, maintain equipment, and coordinate with radiologists to support accurate diagnoses. Requirements include ARDMS registration (or eligibility for Advanced Breast Registry/ARRT Breast Sonography within six months), a minimum of 2 years’ experience, and

Qualifications

• ARDMS registered sonographer; eligible for ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry or ARRT Breast Sonography within six months.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer.
• Excellent written and oral communication; highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to interact with patients and healthcare team in English.

Responsabilités

• Perform ultrasound exams, ensuring proper image capture with the transducer.
• Explain the procedure to patients to minimize confusion.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the procedure room.
• Evaluate images for quality and provide preliminary findings to physicians.
• Present images and notes to radiologists and care team.
• Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to ultrasound.
• Coordinate with Mammography technologists and Radiologist for appropriate information.
• Review prior images and reports before completing an exam.
• Utilize PACS, EMR, and imaging-related systems.

Unified Mammography Services is seeking a Breast Ultrasound Technologist for its Mammography offices at affiliated practices in Fulton, MD and Silver Spring, MD.

The Breast Ultrasound technologist works directly with the operations manager, the office manager, and any other staff assigned to the location. The Sonographer will perform clinical breast ultrasound procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics, and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the radiologist in diagnosis.A sonographer must also possess certain values and abilities, including social perceptiveness, critical thinking, clear communication, active listening, and patient problem sensitivity.

Work Schedule

One day per week in Fulton, MD. Coverage as needed in Silver Spring, MD

Responsibilities

• Performing the ultrasound and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly
• Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients to avoid confusion
• Maintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes place
• Evaluating the images for quality, and interpreting what the image captured
• Presenting images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team
• Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure
• Work closely with the Mammography technologists and Radiologist to ensure the capture of appropriate information and prior imaging.
• Review all prior images and reports before completing an exam
• Utilize PACS, EMR, and any other systems related to imaging

Additional Job Functions

• Attend Unified and UMAMS meetings
• Complete all assigned compliance and education requirements
• Assist in special projects
• Other duties as assigned
• Training of other technologists as needed

Qualifications

• ARDMS registered sonographer
• You must also have, or be eligible to obtain within six months of hire, an ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry or ARRT Breast Sonography certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Previous experience working in an imaging environment is highly desirable
• Proficient in PACS and RIS Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively in English as required by job duties
• Must be able to understand and follow safety instructions provided in English
• Role requires reading and writing in English to complete documentation, reports, and compliance requirements
• Ability to interact with customers, clients, or regulators in English as needed

Compensation Minimum

USD $45.00/Hr.

Compensation Maximum

USD $55.00/Hr.
