Job summary

Unified Mammography Services, a subsidiary of Unified Women’s Healthcare, seeks a Breast Ultrasound Technologist to float part-time across its Las Vegas and Henderson mammography offices. You will perform breast ultrasound exams, explain procedures to patients, and collaborate with radiologists and technologists to ensure accurate imaging.

Applicants must be ARDMS-certified or eligible for ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry, have at least 2 years of breast sonography experience, and be proficient

Qualifications

• ARDMS registered sonographer or eligible for ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer
• Proficient in PACS and RIS; strong English communication

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations of the breast and ensure high-quality image capture
• Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients to ensure comfort and understanding
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room before procedures
• Evaluate images for quality and assist radiologists with interpretation
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team
• Maintain patient records and add imaging notes in EMR
• Coordinate with Mammography technologists and Radiologist to ensure appropriate imaging
• Review prior images and reports before completing exams
• Utilize PACS, EMR, and imaging-related systems

Unified Mammography Services is seeking a Breast Ultrasound Technologist Part -Time Float f or its Mammography office at an affiliated practice in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV.

The Breast Ultrasound technologist works directly with the operations manager, the office manager, and any other staff assigned to the location. The Sonographer will perform clinical breast ultrasound procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics, and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the radiologist in diagnosis.A sonographer must also possess certain values and abilities,including social perceptiveness, critical thinking, clear communication, active listening, and patient problem sensitivity.

Work Schedule: Two days a week at Lake Mead and coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performing the ultrasound and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly
• Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients to avoid confusion
• Maintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes place
• Evaluating the images for quality, and interpreting what the image captured
• Presenting images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team
• Maintaining patient records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure
• Work closely with the Mammography technologists and Radiologist to ensure the capture of appropriate information and prior imaging.
• Review all prior images and reports before completing an exam
• Utilize PACS, EMR, and any other systems related to imaging

Additional Job Functions

• Attend Unified and UMAMS meetings
• Complete all assigned compliance and education requirements
• Assist in special projects
• Other duties as assigned
• Training of other technologists as needed

Qualifications

• ARDMS registered sonographer
• You must also have, or be eligible to obtain within six months of hire, an ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry or ARRT Breast Sonography certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Previous experience working in an imaging environment is highly desirable
• Proficient in PACS and RIS Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively in English as required by job duties
• Must be able to understand and follow safety instructions provided in English
• Role requires reading and writing in English to complete documentation, reports, and compliance requirements
• Ability to interact with customers, clients, or regulators in English as needed

Compensation Minimum

USD $51.00/Hr.

Compensation Maximum

USD $52.00/Hr.
