Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System seeks a Breast Sonographer for a part-time, day-shift role in Columbus, OH. The role conducts ultrasound procedures with an emphasis on image quality and accurate documentation in the RIS, while delivering patient-centered care in line with Radiology standards.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved ultrasound program, ARDMS/ARRT(S) registration, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program is required.
• ARDMS or ARRT(S) registration is required or appropriate.
• Prior experience as a Sonographer is preferred.
• Must have effective communication skills.
• Maintain current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.
• Enter online charges in the RIS and ensure charges are accurate per policy.
• Provide patient care, promote safety, and uphold professional standards in Radiology and Imaging.

Position Purpose:

The Breast Sonographer performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.

What you will do:

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.
• Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
• Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program
• Licensure / Certification: Registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or ARRT (S), with specialties in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, or other areas as appropriate.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Maintain current BLS certification.
