Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Breast Sonographer for a part-time, day-shift role. The position performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, maintaining high image quality and accurate RIS charge entry, while delivering compassionate patient care in a safety-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved ultrasound program with ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification, experience preferred, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Sonographer by ARDMS or ARRT(S), with abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology specialties or similar.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Maintain current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical, ensuring optimal image quality.
• Enter on-line charges in the RIS and ensure accuracy per policy.
• Provide patient care, promote safety, and uphold evidence-based practice and radiology standards.

Position Purpose:

The Breast Sonographer performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.

What you will do:

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.
• Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
• Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program
• Licensure / Certification: Registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or ARRT (S), with specialties in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, or other areas as appropriate.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Maintain current BLS certification.
