Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Breast Sonographer working 1 day a week on Fridays. The role focuses on a variety of Ultrasound procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate RIS charge entry.

The position emphasizes patient safety and adherence to evidence-based practices. Ideal candidates are graduates of an approved Ultrasound program with ARDMS/ARRT(S) certification and BLS; prior Sonography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program.
• Licensure: ARDMS or ARRT(S) with abdomen/OB/GYN specialization.
• Experience: Prior Sonographer experience preferred.
• Must maintain current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures ensuring optimal image quality.
• Enter online charges in RIS and ensure accuracy as per policy.
• Provide patient care with emphasis on safety and quality care.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: This position works 1 day per week on Fridays.

Position Purpose

The Breast Sonographer performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.

What you will do

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.
• Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
• Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program
• Licensure / Certification: Registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or ARRT (S), with specialties in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, or other areas as appropriate.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills Maintain current BLS certification.
