Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Breast Sonographer for the Outpatient Imaging team in Salisbury, NC. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, in a collaborative environment with radiologists and clinical teams to deliver high-quality breast ultrasound services.

Required ARDMS certification in Breast (RDMS/BR), state licensure, and a CAHEEP-recognized Sonography program completion. Experience preferred and patient-focused care is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Graduate of CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program required.
• ARDMS certification (Breast) RDMS/BR required; applicable state license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic/therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
• Perform breast ultrasound examinations as part of diagnostic imaging.

Facility: NHI Julian Road (Outpatient Imaging) | Location: Salisbury, NC | Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM)

What You'll Do

The Breast Sonographer assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.


• Experience: One year of breast sonography experience, preferred.


• Licensure/Certification: Certified and registered by ARDMS in Breast Sonography – RDMS,BR,required. Applicable state license,required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement,required.


• Additional Skills (required): Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates sonography equipment.
