Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Breast Sonographer for a part-time, Friday-only schedule. The role performs a range of ultrasound procedures, focusing on image quality and patient care in a Radiology setting.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved ultrasound program, ARDMS/ARRT(S) certification, and BLS. Prior sonographer experience is preferred, with emphasis on accuracy in RIS billing and high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program.
• Registered as a Sonographer by ARDMS or ARRT(S) with abdomen, OB-GYN or other areas as appropriate.
• Prior experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills.
• Maintain current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures with emphasis on image quality.
• Enter online charges in the RIS system and ensure accuracy of charges.
• Provide patient care, promote patient safety and uphold professional standards.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: This position works 1 day per week on Fridays.

Position Purpose:

The Breast Sonographer performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.

What you will do:

• Performs a variety of Ultrasound procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.
• Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
• Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an approved Ultrasound program
• Licensure / Certification: Registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or ARRT (S), with specialties in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, or other areas as appropriate.
• Experience: Prior experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Maintain current BLS certification.
