Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Procedural/First Assist role in the Breast Oncology Program. The position alternates between inpatient care and operating room assistance, under MMG guidance, with potential outpatient duties.

Flexibility to serve at multiple locations is expected, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, be patient-centered, and possess surgical/oncology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree minimum; master’s degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active FL medical license (or ability to obtain one) and national certification.
• Active BLS.
• Experience in surgery/OR, oncology or general internal medicine; OR experience preferred.
• First Assist/Bedside Assist in the OR preferred; Robotic experience a plus; RNFA certification a plus (if APRN).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating and optimizing care.
• Assists physicians in the OR and during surgery.
• Documents patient care per medical staff rules.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications within scope of practice.
• Assist in the OR in lieu of or in addition to a Surgical Resident or Fellow.
