Breakthrough Cincinnati is seeking a Development Specialist VISTA to lead fundraising capacity building with donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. You will manage donor stewardship, plan appeals, and produce newsletters while working closely with students, families, and staff.

The role focuses on growing Breakthrough Cincinnati’s fundraising program and is positioned within the AmeriCorps VISTA framework for community impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in fundraising or grant writing preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to organize and manage donor data and newsletters.

Our 6-week summer program, school year program, and college bound program events give vulnerable middle school students a boost through academic, leadership, and college preparatory experiences. Breakthrough Cincinnati is seeking a creative, competitive self-starter to join our team. We are expanding our organization to serve more students across Cincinnati, and we seek a partner to build our fundraising capacity to grow! You will lead our capacity building in the area of fundraising with individuals and foundations, corporate sponsorships, in‑kind giving, donor stewardship, data administration, and newsletter creation. Some of the projects include leading the fall and spring fundraising appeals, planning and execution of our sponsorship program, creating our monthly newsletter, grant writing, and the cultivation of new donors. The role is in the center of the action with our students, families, donors, and staff! We are a fun and smart group of student‑centered professionals and cannot wait to meet you!

Benefits include a monthly $200 housing stipend to supplement living costs.
