The role requires a newsroom background, proficiency in AP style, and the ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate research and story framing. Some holidays may be required and travel for breaking news is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience covering the news and newsroom experience.
• Knowledge of AP style and clear writing style.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment in a fast-paced newsroom.

Responsibilities

• Cover breaking news events, writing quickly and precisely.
• Pitch and cover stories, with proper attribution.
• Pursue original and exclusive stories through sources.
• Present all stories in an accessible, compelling style.
• Collaborate with editors and writers.
• Obtain and edit compelling video and pictures for each story.
