Who We’re Looking For

You are a passionate and dedicated cook who thrives in the energy of a morning kitchen. You are excited
to work in an environment that promotes sustainability through the culinary experience, specifically by
crafting thoughtfully sourced, high-quality breakfast and brunch meals. The Inn at Shelburne Farms plays
a crucial role in this mission, allowing our guests to engage with the concepts of sustainability through
their food from the very start of their day.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious, and sustainably sourced breakfast and brunch meals for
    guests.
  • Expertly execute short-order breakfast items, including eggs, omelets, and farm-fresh specialties,
    using approved safe food-handling practices.
  • Support the team’s sustainable culinary practices, including reducing food waste, composting, and
utilizing every part of an ingredient.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient morning kitchen environment, adhering to all health and
safety regulations. Ensure the integrity of the food served aligns with the farm’s organizational mission and high
    standards for quality.
Core Qualifications
  • Passion for preparing locally sourced, simply prepared, and beautifully presented breakfast food.
  • 3 years or more of professional cooking experience, with a strong preference for breakfast or
    short-order experience.
  • Self-motivated team player with the reliability to handle early morning shifts, weekends, and
    holidays.
  • Excellent knife skills and a deep understanding of breakfast-specific cooking techniques (e.g., egg
    cookery, griddle work).
Additional Valued Qualifications
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and focus during high-volume breakfast rushes.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with the morning service team.
  • Restaurant opening experience is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Being active for extended periods of time and working in settings with limited air
conditioned work environments depending on the location.
  • This is a very fast-paced role, especially during peak dining hours, requiring a high level of
    attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Carrying and moving items up/down stairs and over uneven terrain, weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Indoor and outdoor work environment.
  • Maintaining a tidy shared workspace.
